Power-supply filter ICs

Reduce system size, weight and cost with stand-alone AEF ICs

parametric-filterView all products
Mitigating electromagnetic interference (EMI) has become more challenging given the large passive filters in power-supply systems. By acting as a capacitance amplifier, the active EMI filter (AEF) integrated circuits (ICs) in our power-supply filter IC portfolio make it possible to achieve up to 30 dB of additional EMI attenuation, reducing the inductance value of chokes in common-mode filters as much as 80%. AEF ICs make it possible to reduce the size, weight and cost of EMI filters in high-power-density solutions.

Common-mode AEF ICs

AEF ICs sense the common-mode EMI voltage disturbances and inject noise-canceling current back into power lines, effectively amplifying the filter capacitance and enabling the use of smaller chokes.

Reduce system size, weight and cost of passive EMI filter solutions and increase reliability

Touch-current safety regulations limit the size of Y-rated filter capacitors, resulting in large inductors. Our highly integrated AEF ICs enable you to significantly reduce magnetic components and overall filter size while maintaining a similar level of EMI. Ancillary benefits include lower power loss for better thermal management, improved system reliability, easier mechanical packaging design, and lower costs.
