802.11 Wireless LAN

802.11 is moving beyond its role as a stand-alone technology, to that of an embedded feature in residential gateways, consumer electronics and mobile phones.

Design Considerations

OEM and ODM design teams can count on TI's WLAN Solutions from TI that are cost-effective, speed design cycles, and maximize probability of first-time certification.

TI’s leadership in wireless networking technology is built on years of leadership in cellular, DSP, analog and mixed-signal product development, augmented by a dedication to standards and worldwide technical support before and after deployment.

TI's primary WLAN products include:

  • TNETW1350A
The TNETW1350A is a single-chip media access controller (MAC) and baseband processor (BB) that delivers an ideal solution for those designing 802.11b/g residential gateways and consumer electronic stationary devices, like set-top boxes and wireless media adapters.
  • TNETW1450
The TNETW1450 media access controller (MAC) reference design package delivers all the benefits of USB 2.0 to design teams that want to develop 802.11b/g products for the entire spectrum of PC from factors. When used with DSL and Cable residential gateways that integrate TI solutions, it delivers increased data rates and enhanced interoperability.
